Yuniel (12) from Rafael Freyre urgently needs help
In Santa Lucía, a municipality of Rafael Freyre in the province of Holguín, lives 12-year-old Yuniel de Jesús Ramírez Cruz.
Yuniel suffers from a progressive central nervous system disorder, epilepsy and chronic asthma. He requires daily care and his health is deteriorating.
His mother, Yannia, cannot work because she has to look after her son day and night. The family has to make do with a state benefit of only 1,550 Cuban pesos per month, which converts to approximately 3 US dollars.
The family's situation is very serious.
- They don't have their own home.
- They are currently staying in a borrowed house.
- There is insufficient funding for special dietary requirements.
- Important medicines are missing.
- There is a need for hygiene products and personal care items.
- Yuniel cannot fully control his bodily functions and requires extra care.
Currently, Yuniel only has his epilepsy medication. Other necessary medications, including L-Carnitine and Domperidone, are not available to the family.
According to his mother, Yuniel has serious digestive problems. His stomach is often bloated and his digestion is very slow. As there is no money for the right nutrition, he regularly receives food that is not suitable for his medical condition.
Our volunteer Lisandra visited the family in person. The situation was carefully documented through photographs, videos and conversations with the mother. Based on this documentation, it is clear that this family urgently needs help.
For Yuniel, we are looking for support for:
- Medicines;
- Nutritious and personalised nutrition;
- Hygiene and care products;
- Practical support for the family.
Every contribution, big or small, helps us to improve Yuniel and his mother's situation.
Yuniel can't wait. His needs are present today.
Would you like to help? Please support this campaign and help us provide Yuniel with the care, food and medication he so desperately needs.
