Angela Fonseca is 74 years old and lives in the province of Holguín, Cuba. She lives in very difficult circumstances with her 84-year-old husband and her adult daughter.

During a home visit by a Stichting Amistad con Cuba volunteer, it was determined that the dwelling is in poor condition. The roof leaks, the walls are damaged, and in some places there is a risk of collapse. Additionally, the dwelling has serious damp problems.

The family's health situation is very worrying.

Angela's 84-year-old husband is suffering from severe prostate problems and can barely walk. Her daughter has had a heart attack and, in addition, has suffered a fracture of her hip and femur. As a result, she is largely bedridden and dependent on her mother's care.

The daily care of two severely ill family members therefore rests almost entirely on the shoulders of a 74-year-old woman.

The family has very limited financial resources. There is insufficient money available for food, hygiene products and other essential necessities. According to the volunteer who investigated the situation, immediate assistance is urgently required.
