🚨A little girl. A young family. A race against time.

This is the story of Vanessa Verdecia Labrada, a brave girl of just 3 years old from Holguín, Cuba.

Vanessa lives with her parents, Adam Verdecia and Dayana Labrada. In recent months, they have done everything in their power to help their daughter.

In August 2025, Vanessa received a serious diagnosis: Acute myeloid leukaemia (AML). This is a serious and aggressive form of blood cancer.

What followed were months of hospital visits, examinations, treatments, chemotherapy, hope, and uncertainty.

After an intensive treatment period, Vanessa was allowed to go home on 23 March 2026. The family hoped the illness had been overcome.

But on 8 May 2026, Vanessa had to be admitted to the children's hospital in Holguín again. Multiple bruises appeared on her body. New examinations brought terrible news.

The leukaemia had returned.

For this type of leukaemia, there is currently only one real chance:

A bone marrow transplant.

This treatment is unfortunately not available in Cuba at the moment.

But Vanessa's parents don't give up.

Contact has now been established with medical specialists in Bologna, Italy, through international contacts. Vanessa's medical file is currently being carefully reviewed there.

Together with the parents, we are now waiting for:

• The official medical assessment from Italy
Confirmation of a possible treatment pathway
• A first estimate of the total costs

Keep in mind:

• The medical treatment
• Possible hospitalisation
Flight tickets
• Accommodation costs
• Medication and aftercare

As soon as this information is officially available, we will communicate fully openly and transparently about it.

Should the treatment plan unexpectedly be cancelled, any donations will be spent only in consultation with the parents and with complete transparency. 100% of the donations for this case will be recorded separately and used exclusively for Vanessa and her medical treatment.
