It is with deep sorrow that we say goodbye to Vanessa

It is with great sadness that we have learned of Vanessa's passing. Three-year-old Vanessa passed away today, around 4:00 PM Cuban time, in the hospital in Holguín, Cuba. This message deeply affects us.

In recent times, many, both within Cuba and beyond, have sympathised with her and her family. There was hope, prayer, and fighting for recovery. Despite all the love, effort, and hope, Vanessa was not able to win this fight.

On behalf of the Stichting Amistad con Cuba, we wish to express our sincere condolences to her parents, family, friends, and all who loved her.

The loss of a young life leaves a deep void. Words fail in the face of such sorrow.

At the same time, Vanessa's passing reminds us why human help, connection, and involvement are so important. Her story has touched many and will not be forgotten.

We wish her parents and loved ones strength, love, and comfort during this unimaginably difficult time.
